Auburn Reed has her entire life mapped out. Her goals are in sight and there’s no room for mistakes. But when she walks into a Dallas art studio in search of a job, she doesn’t expect to find a deep attraction to the enigmatic artist who works there, Owen Gentry.

For once, Auburn takes a risk and puts her heart in control, only to discover Owen is keeping major secrets from coming out. The magnitude of his past threatens to destroy everything important to Auburn, and the only way to get her life back on track is to cut Owen out of it.

The last thing Owen wants is to lose Auburn, but he can’t seem to convince her that truth is sometimes as subjective as art. All he would have to do to save their relationship is confess. But in this case, the confession could be much more destructive than the actual sin…

My Review:

I’ll love you forever. Even when I can’t.

You should all know by now that I really, really, really, very much enjoy Colleen Hoover’s books. If you’re new here and didn’t know that, well, I really, really, really, very much enjoy Colleen Hoover’s books. And so apparently it’s just impossible for Colleen Hoover to write a bad book, or just a book I haven’t absolutely loved, because goddamn she did it again!!!! This book was just too good!

Let’s be real though, I knew I was going to love it even before I picked it up, because like I said I love Colleen’s books. They are always so easy to read and you can literally fly through them in less than 24 hours. They are also such good books to read when you’re in a reading slump, or just when you want something easy to read after reading a heavy fantasy series or historical fiction (etcetera).

Moving on to the actual novel, my gosh I absolutely loved this book! I know I’ve loved every book I’ve read of Colleen’s so far, but this book is probably on par with Ugly Love, that’s how much I enjoyed the story. And once again if you’re new here then I’ll tell you that my favourite CoHo book so far is November 9, followed closely by Ugly Love. And now I honestly don’t know which one I enjoyed more, Confess or Ugly Love. They are completely different stories, and Ugly Love is definitely more heartbreaking, but Confess was just…… I don’t even know how to explain it. Like, it wasn’t as sad and heartbreaking as her usual books, but it was still so good. The storyline was cute and beautiful and sad but just so amazing, and the artwork, holy hell! I literally want to blow up some of those paintings and put them on my own walls they are so pretty!

I’m also kind of sad because I only have to read the Slammed series and the Never Never books by CoHo and then I’ve read them all. Well, the ones that are released anyway. (HAVE YOU SEEN HOW PRETTY AND AMAZING HER NEW BOOK, ‘IT ENDS WITH US’ IS???? IT’S GOING TO KILL ME I JUST KNOW IT!) But anyway I just don’t even know what else to say. This book was incredible and I was honestly speechless when I finished it, and just trying to put together words to describe how good it was has left me speechless once again. You just really need to read this book, okay? Just read it and love it like I did.

My Rating:

Did you enjoy this book? And what’s your favourite CoHo book? And if you haven’t yet read anything by Colleen Hoover, what are you doing with your life???? Go pick up one of her books asap!!!

Until next time,

  1. I have never read a Colleen Houver book. Aha, really I’m petrified. I know I should pick them all up and just binge read through them all and sit devastated with a bowl of ice cream bawling my eyes out but I am so afraid of the emotional turmoil ahead and the book hangovers to arrive XD

This post however is breaking down my resistance. I suspect VERY soon I will be picking it up and VERY soon I will be so very not okay. Anyway, what I mean to say is great review! 🙂
