First things first, there are going to be books/series mentioned that I know a lot of people love. Obviously, my opinions are going to be quite unpopular and different but I am allowed to have different opinions just as you are. If one of your favourites is mentioned there is no need to be rude about it; we all have to accept that not every person in the world will like every single book that we like.

That all being said, here are a few books/series that I haven’t read, and don’t plan on picking up anytime soon.

 

Twilight by Stephanie Meyer

 

I think maybe if I read this series when I was 13/14 I probably would have loved it, but now that I’m 21 years old I just have no interest in it whatsoever.

 

 

 

 

The Maze Runner by James Dashner

 

I had this trilogy on my shelves for a while and last night I finally got the courage to unhaul some more books. I have really just lost interest in reading it, and I’ve also heard that the writing is quite young, and I find that I really don’t enjoy young writing (I’m not sure if that makes sense but anyway) anymore. So I unhauled it….

 

 

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Now, I know *gasp*. I have been told many times to read this series, and I know most of Young Adult readers absolutely love this series, but I honestly just cannot be bothered anymore. I have found that I can’t commit to series that are longer than four books, especially when the books are 500+ pages. I don’t think I’d really enjoy the series as much as everyone else does, and I honestly cannot be bothered putting up with the fandom and the drama that unfolds in it almost daily. I’d just rather read something less problematic, sorry (not sorry).

 

 

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon 

 

Half of my reason for not wanting to read this is because The Bronze Horseman (review can be found here) really put me off reading Historical Fiction, but the other reason is because I’ve heard that there is an abuse relationship/s in it and I can’t deal with that again after The Bronze Horseman. Also, the book is like 1000 pages long and I just don’t have time for that (and don’t really want to waste time on it, either).

 

 

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

 

Another book that had been on my shelves for a while and I decided it was time to unhaul. I heard such good things when it first came out, but since then there’s been a lot of mixed reviews and I’m not really interested in it anymore.

 

 

 

Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige

 

Again, another book I recently unhauled. I’ve heard mixed reviews about this series as well, but I probably would have kept it if I hadn’t read Paige’s latest release, Stealing Snow (full review to come). Unfortunately, I really didn’t like it, and I’m not really interested in reading Dorothy Must Die anymore.

 

 

 

Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan

 

I feel bad for saying this one since a friend of mine surprised me with a copy of the first book for my birthday. I’ve never really been interested in reading this series, or any of the spin-offs. I really enjoy Greek mythology, but there are so many Percy Jackson books and I’m just really not interested in reading Middle-Grade books anymore.
