This review has been long overdue, not because I only just read the book, but purely because I am lazy and just haven’t written it until now, a month after I finished the book. I mean, at least I’m finally writing it now, right?
But anyway, enough about me being a terrible blogger, let’s talk about this wunderful *wiggles eyebrows* book, shall we?
This book pretty much started where the last book left off, which was great for me since I read the first book over a year ago and had forgotten quite a lot that had happened. But as soon as I started reading Wundersmith, almost everything from the first book came back to me and I was instantly hooked to the story. Like ‘I don’t want to put this book down until I finish it and if I’m late to work then so be it’ hooked (I actually was almost late to work because I so desperately had to finish reading this book, but I finished the book and just managed to get to work on time so everything was fine).
This story was full of magic and fun and was just such a joy to read, I mean I really couldn’t put it down (see above) so what more do I really need to say about it? I guess the best way to describe just how much I loved this book is to compare it to Harry Potter. I know, I know, you probably just rolled your eyes at me. “Nothing comes close to Harry Potter,” you say, “nothing could ever compare to the beauty that JK Rowling created.” And look, I don’t disagree with you, but hear me out. You know that feeling you got when you first read/watched Harry Potter? The way the story was told, the magic within it, the characters, the ridiculous settings; just everything? Yeah, that’s how this book made me feel.
Wundersmith was an amazing sequel to a great story, and I honestly cannot wait to see where this story goes because I truly believe that it’s going to be such a magical journey that so many people are going to enjoy. So yes, if you love Harry Potter I really do think you’ll love the Nevermoor series; it’s just so full of magic and adventure and you cannot help but love every second of it.
