worst reads of 2016

Can you even believe that it’s that time of year? You know, the time where you look back on the year and reflect, realise how horrible 2016 was, and pray that 2017 will be 10x better? Yeah, that time of year. Christmas is just around the corner, which means the New Year is also about to arrive, so I figured it was time to share my faves, and in this case, least faves, of the year. Let’s be real, if you follow me on Twitter, Instagram, or know me personally, you will know what majority of the books will be on this list.
So, let’s get into it!

A Court of Thorns and Roses/A Court of Mist and Fury – Sarah J. Maas

Now, I know what you’re thinking. I know you probably want to kill me right now, but let me explain. I did enjoy these two books, ACOMAF much more than ACOTAR, but I definitely did not enjoy it as much as everyone else did. The more time that goes by, the less I care about the characters and the story, and I just didn’t find it as amazing as everyone else.

Stolen – Lucy Christopher

This again was a book that I enjoyed, but just not all that much. I found the story pretty boring, and it just felt like nothing at all happened. I also kind of expected it to be different, and I think that kind of let the story down for me.

The Edge of Never – J.A Redmerski

I went into this book with pretty high expectations, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to them. Again, I found this book to be pretty boring and thought it was pretty poorly written.

All The Bright Places – Jennifer Niven

Another book I had high expectations for and was unfortunately let down. I still enjoyed most of the story, but I just couldn’t connect to the characters or the story. It just wasn’t for me.

The Raven Cycle – Maggie Stiefvater

Damn was this series a hell of a disappointment for me. This series had so much hype and I thought I would love it, but I really didn’t. I felt it was overhyped, the writing wasn’t for me, and the last book was so anticlimactic I was just really disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, the characters were great, but I just didn’t really enjoy it.

The Bronze Horseman – Paullina Simons

I honestly do not know how I finished reading this book. Nothing happened, literally nothing. I hated all of the characters, to the point where I wanted them all to die, and I honestly do not understand how so many people love this book, I just ugh.

Stealing Snow – Danielle Paige

I really didn’t think I would read a book that I disliked more than The Bronze Horseman, but man did this book prove me so, so wrong. This book is literally the worst book I’ve ever read. The concept and idea was amazing and it could have been such an amazing book, but it was just awful.
